The combination of the Arena Level 1 and the Ice Maintenance course will have participants participate in both classroom instruction and practical sessions and do a full two-day install, including making ice, marking lines, painting, logos, and maintenance of artificial ice surfaces.

The CPO® course of the National Swimming Pool Foundation has been designed specifically for pool operators.  The CPO® course provides pool managers and operators with the practical and technical information they require to safely and effectively maintain their pools.

The Second Class Refrigeration Course is a six-month program, consisting of several in-class sessions at NSCC Akerley Campus and online training. The course is offered through a partnership with the Recreation Facility Association of Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency (NSAA), Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), and the Department of Labour and Advanced Education.

The information obtained from the seminar can be used immediately or assist in preparing any ice facility on improved maintenance procedures. This seminar is an integral part of the overall professional development for those in facility management and maintenance.
