This one-day seminar is designed for those who own, manage, operate, and maintain sports and recreation facilities. Topics will cover refrigeration plant maintenance, basic ice-resurfacer maintenance, and ice painting and maintenance.

The CPO® course of the National Swimming Pool Foundation has been designed specifically for pool operators.  The CPO® course provides pool managers and operators with the practical and technical information they require to safely and effectively maintain their pools.

This Sports Turf Canada course is designed to introduce the latest principles and techniques of managing and maintaining sports turf.

Ensure your playgrounds are safe for all users. Gain the most up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge about playground safety and confirm this knowledge by completing the Playground Inspector Certification courses.

This one-and-a-half-day course covers these areas of facility operation; preventive maintenance, life cycle planning, thermodynamics, HVAC / boiler operation and mechanical maintenance, basic carpentry, painting, basic electricity, plumbing, and facility safety.

The combination of the Arena Level 1 and the Ice Maintenance course will have participants participate in both classroom instruction and practical sessions and do a full two-day install, including making ice, marking lines, painting, logos, and maintenance of artificial ice surfaces.

The Second Class Refrigeration Course is a six-month program, consisting of several in-class sessions at NSCC Akerley Campus and online training. The course is offered through a partnership with the Recreation Facility Association of Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency (NSAA), Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), and the Department of Labour and Advanced Education.

The information obtained from the seminar can be used immediately or assist in preparing any ice facility on improved maintenance procedures. This seminar is an integral part of the overall professional development for those in facility management and maintenance.

The combination of these two courses will have participants engage in both classroom instruction and practical sessions, and complete a full two-day install, including making ice, marking lines, painting, applying logos, and maintaining artificial ice surfaces.
