Job Title: Resource Hub Coordinator (Summer Student)
Location: Halifax, NS
Duration: 10 Weeks (Full-time – 35 hrs/week) – June 1st, 2026 – August 7th, 2026
Salary: $17.75/hour
The Recreation Facility Association of Nova Scotia (RFANS) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated
to providing leadership in developing, promoting and advocating excellence in recreational facilities,
operations and personnel. RFANS strives to be the industry resource for courses, training, and
educational resources for Nova Scotia’s recreation facilities.
Job Overview:
RFANS is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student to assist with the development of a resource
hub for our organization’s website. The student will work in collaboration with RFANS board and staff, and in partnership with the Town of Amherst. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in web design, social
media management, project coordination, and data collection.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research & Resource Management: Identify, gather, and organize resources to be included in the
online hub. - Website & Digital Content: Assist with design and updates to the RFANS website, including uploading
content and maintaining the new resource hub. - Social Media & Promotion: Support RFANS’ social media efforts by promoting the resource hub and
sharing relevant updates. - Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with organizational members, partners, staff, and board
members to ensure the hub is user-focused and relevant. - Project & Office Support: Coordinate meetings, track progress, manage documentation, and assist with
administrative tasks as required. - Data & IT Support: Collect and manage data related to the project, and assist with minor IT or web
development tasks as required.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and returning to studies in the fall.
• Interest in web design, IT, social media, or related fields.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with web design tools (e.g., WordPress) is an
asset.
• Knowledge of data collection tools and social media platforms is preferred.
Additional Details:
This position is funded through the Student Summer Skills Incentive (SKILL) program and is intended for
eligible post-secondary students in Nova Scotia.
This position may require some travel within Nova Scotia so access to reliable transportation would be
considered an asset.
